What advice would you give to people who are just starting their fitness journey or people who feel like quitting or not even starting because they think it’s too hard?

Remember that health and fitness is a marathon, not a sprint! It took time to put the weight on and it’s going to take time to take the weight off. In order for you to truly change your body and keep the excess weight off, you have to commit yourself to a LIFESTYLE change. Many people fail to realize this. Once they lose the weight they go back to old unhealthy habits and gain it all back. Set yourself up for success by creating healthy habits that you can maintain long-term.

Be patient and stay positive. There will be bumps in the road and you will have setbacks and make mistakes here and there. The important thing is to NOT give up. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. What separates those who succeed from those who fail is simply the will and determination to carry on.

What has been the hardest part of your lifestyle change from college to now?

Losing friends. You learn pretty quickly who was a genuine friend and who was just using you or only liked you for superficial reasons. In the end though I’m thankful for this experience, because it brought a lot of new, wonderful people into my life and made me realize just how lucky I am to have the good friends that I DO have.

I just did an interview with Refuel Your Soul. Here is the full interview! I hope you ladies will check it out <3
